Dino Danelli, born on 23 July 1944 in Jersey City, New Jersey, is an American drummer best known for his role in the band The Young Rascals.
Danelli, with his jazz technique and rock energy, is often considered one of the greatest drummers in rock history. His dynamic performance was crucial to The Rascals’ unique sound.
After the Rascals disbanded, Danelli played in a variety of bands, including Bulldog and Fotomaker, while continuing to be recognised for his work with the Rascals. His influence on rock drumming remains undeniable. Danelli was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 with The Rascals.
