The project: The 1001 albums you must hear before you die

At the beginning of each year, we make good resolutions. Mine came from a visit to Wikipedia, the kind of visit where you get lost in the collaborative encyclopedia and come across pages you never knew existed.  The page The 1001 albums you must hear before you die titillated my obsessive side for lists of all kinds.

It features a reference book that was written by music critics Michael Lydon and Robert Dimery. It presents a list of 1001 albums that the authors consider to be among the best and most important in music history. The list covers a wide range of musical genres, from rock to jazz, pop, hip-hop, classical music and many more.

So I decided to listen to all these albums in their entirety in order (they are presented in chronological order). And in order not to forget this experience, I decided to create this site which will include one post per album listened to.

After listening to each album, I also select one or more tracks that will be included in Spotify, Deezer and Youtube playlists. The project is a long-term one (I don’t see myself finishing it in less than a year) and so this site will be regularly updated as I progress in this endeavour.
