A good musical resolution
Pink Floyd is a British rock band formed in 1965, whose music has shaped the history of rock and popular music. With Syd Barrett, Roger Waters, Nick Mason and Richard Wright in the early days, the band began by exploring psychedelic rock with albums such as “The Piper at the Gates of Dawn”.
Barrett’s departure in 1968, due to mental health problems, saw Waters take on the role of main leader. With David Gilmour, who joined the band in 1967, Pink Floyd developed a progressive and conceptual sound, marked by philosophical lyrics, sound experiments and impressive visual performances.
The band achieved commercial and critical success with albums such as “The Dark Side of The Moon” (1973), “Wish You Were Here” (1975) and “The Wall” (1979). These works cemented the band’s reputation as one of the most influential in progressive rock.
Despite internal tensions that led to Waters’ resignation in 1985, Pink Floyd continued to record and tour with Gilmour at the helm. The band officially ceased operations in 2014. Their sonic and visual explorations have left an indelible mark on rock music and continue to influence artists around the world.
