A good musical resolution
Floyd Council, born on 2 September 1911 in North Carolina and died on 9 May 1976, was an American blues musician. Known as “Dipper Boy” Council, he was primarily a guitarist, but also played the banjo.
He played alongside famous blues musicians such as Blind Boy Fuller and recorded several songs in the 1930s. Although he was a relatively quiet musician in the history of the blues, he gained unexpected posthumous fame when British musician Syd Barrett combined his first name with that of Pink Anderson to create the name of his band, Pink Floyd.
So, although Floyd Council spent much of his life in the shadows, his name continues to resonate in rock history.
