Eddie Brigati, born on 22 October 1945 in Garfield, New Jersey, is an American singer and songwriter best known as one of the original members of The Young Rascals.
Alongside Felix Cavaliere, Brigati co-wrote many of the band’s most memorable hits, including “Groovin'”, “How Can I Be Sure” and “People Got to Be Free”. Her soulful vocals were a key element of the Rascals’ sound.
After leaving the Rascals in 1970, Brigati pursued a lesser-known solo career, but remains respected for his crucial role in one of the most influential rock’n’roll bands of the 1960s. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 with The Rascals.
